SSC GD EXAM SYLLABUS 2023
SSC GD exam is conducted by Staff Selection commission for the recruitment of eligible personnel as Constable in Central Armed Para- Military Forces (CAPF). CAPF includes Central Police forces BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles, NIA etc. SSC GD 2023 exam notification is expected to release on 22 February 2023 and exam will be conducted in June 2023.
SSC General Duty Constable Exam
SSC GD exam is conducted every calendar year to recruit candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) in following-

SSC GD Constable Recruitment process
Recruitment process for the SSC GD Constable recruitment exam consists of following :
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)Â
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are willing to appear for the SSC Constable (GD) exam 2023 has to fulfil certain eligibility criteria before applying for SSC GD Post.
Educational Qualifications:
Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University – as on date of advertisement
Nationality:
Indian citizen.
Age Limit:
18-23 years as on date of advertisement.
Age Relaxation:
Age relaxation in the upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons based on the Government’s orders.
Category Permissible Age Relaxation
SC/ ST- 5 years
OBC- 3 years
Ex-Servicemen– 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning.
How to Apply for SSC Constable GD
All interested candidates may apply for the SSC Constable (GD) exam 2023 at SSC official website of SSC (ssc.nic.in) for online registration.
The detail procedure for online submission of applications is given in the Annexure-III section of the SSC GD Exam 2023 Notification.
SSC GD Exam Pattern
SSC GD Exam is divided into four stages:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
Computer-Based Examination (CBE):-
This is an online test consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQ) from following four sections:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Knowledge and General Awareness
- Elementary Mathematics
- English/ Hindi
Physical Standard Test (PST):
This test is conducted to evaluates the physical standards of the candidates on the basis of three factors – height, chest and weight.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
This test assesses the candidate’s physical fitness and he/ she needs to undergo PET (running)
Detailed Medical Examination (DME):
Shortlisted candidates after CBE, PET and PST are go through a detailed medical examination. They are medically examined by the Medical Boards constituted by the CAPFs to assess physical and medical fitness.
SSC Constable Exam Syllabus
The syllabus of SSC General Duty Constable exam remains the same every year. SSC mentions the detailed syllabus on the notification of GD exam. SSC GD syllabus 2023 comprises a Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

SSC Constable Exam Syllabus Subject Wise :-
General Intelligence & Reasoning:
It mainly consists of MCQ from the basic topics like arithmetical reasoning, problem-solving, number series, analogies, coding-decoding, blood relation, sitting arrangement, direction sense and figures classification, etc.
General Knowledge and General Awareness:
This section consist questions from the Geography, General Polity, Indian Culture, History, Current Affairs, Books and Authors, Scientific research, Sports etc.
Elementary Mathematics:
In this section, includes topics like averages, decimals and fractions, work and time, percentage, mensuration, ratio and proportion, time and distance, etc.
English/Hindi:
In this portion of 25 questions, specific topics pertaining to a language Hindi or English are given to tests the grammatical and comprehension skills.
